The fintech authorization (also called "banking license light"), is an authorization with facilitating requirements and allows to accept deposits from the public in the maximum amount of one hundred million Swiss francs or crypto-based assets, whereby the deposits from the public or assets may neither be invested nor earn interest. It is also a prerequisite that an institution with fintech authorization (persons pursuant to Art. 1b Banking Act) is a stock corporation, limited partnership or limited liability company and has its registered office and business activities in Switzerland.
